Excelsior Springs Tiger students of all ages will be celebrating their learning in the streets of downtown Excelsior Springs during Second Friday’s on April 13th! In the first ever Tiger Fest, this event is meant to connect the community with our youth who are showcasing what they have to offer.
Nic Vasquez, Choir Director at the Excelsior Springs Middle School, is currently putting together a lineup of vocal and instrumental performances with the choir and band classes. Other activities scheduled include project displays of student work, bake sales from the Family and Consumer Science classes, special education students selling concessions, robots from the Robotics team, activities surrounding learning in the classroom, a dunk tank and more! Jeff Manning’s high school marketing class students will be putting together the promotions surrounding the event, working in partnership with the Excelsior Springs Educational Foundation. Foundation Director Courtney Cole stated: “When the idea of having a festival for our students was proposed, I knew this was something the foundation would want to be a part of. Having the opportunity to showcase our students to the community that supports them is directly aligned with the mission and vision of the educational foundation. This is something to get excited about!” Groups currently scheduled to participate include: Adult and Community Education, Mrs. Vaughan’s English Classes, Middle School FCCLA, Flag Committee, High School Special Education, Cross Country Team, Robotics/TSA, ESHS Physics, Hankin’s Advisory, Westview Student Council, ESHS Tiger Cheerleading, ESMS Girls on the Run, ESMS Student Leadership, Middle School Functional/Transitional Classes, ESMS Choir, HVAC, ESMS Guitar, High School Basketball, ESMS Physical Education, Music Performances of all ages, Electrical Trades, SkillsUSA, 3 Dimensional Art 1 & amp; 2, Computer Technology, Carpentry, Automotive, Captain Potter’s Fire/EMT, and First Grade Teams, Rainbow Tigers, Excelsior Springs Educational Foundation, and Excelsior Springs Alumni Association. |
